Netflix Successfully Battles Recession

Netflix appears to be thriving despite of the current recession -- or possibly because of it. The online video renter saw its subscriber rate rise 25 percent from its year-ago rate outgrowth. Some analysts attributed the growth to people look for less expensive entertainment as the current receding grips the country. Other analysts suggested that Netflix may have been helped by the introduction of a streaming service in May that allows users to view movies on their TV sets with the economic aid of an inexpensive settop box, the Netflix Player, developed by Roku. Net income for the companionship rose merely 3.8 percent to $26.6 million from $25.6 million, leading analysts to suspect that some Netflix customers may be downgrading their subscriptions to incur fewer movies each month than they had antecedently.

Tommy Lee Turns Vegetarian For Pamela Anderson

Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson’s reconciliation may be down to the fact that he has become vegetarian for his ex-wife.

The former Baywatch babe, who is a longtime vegetarian and animal rights activist, has moved in with Lee, sparking reports of a romantic reunion.

And the Motley Crue star has confirmed the on-off couple is giving their relationship another chance, stating: "Pamela and the kids have moved in with me. It's awesome, man. It's definitely working."

And his decision to quit meat may have helped him win back the wife he divorced 10 years ago in 1998.

He says: "I just went vegetarian (and) I dig it, I feel lighter, I like it.

"I figured that this is something I hadn't done yet but wanted to. At this point in my life, I'm down to trying anything I haven't done yet."

Louis Walsh slams new show Rock Rivals

'X Factor' judge Louis Walsh has blasted the new drama series 'Rock Rivals' for being unrealistic.
Walsh told The Mirror: "There's far more drama on 'The X Factor' in any week than there's likely to be in this whole series."
"I was so excited when I sat down to watch it. I expected it to be great," he said.
"I had spent a whole day on set doing a cameo and they cut me. I was annoyed, but now I've seen it I'm glad that I ended up on the cutting room floor. It could have been so funny and real but it isn't."
Walsh also said that the show didn't show enough of the rivalry that exists between the judges on reality shows.
He said: "They didn't capture the tension and the drama on the show between the judges and the contestants - especially the judges."

Steven Spielberg - Spielberg Reluctant To Revive Indiana Jones

STEVEN SPIELBERG dismissed pleas to revive INDIANA JONES for a fourth movie - because he was convinced his ending to the RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK trilogy was perfect.

The legendary moviemaker returned to the set of the Harrison Ford action film for its latest installment, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, to shoot the summer (08) film - 19 years after 1989's The Last Crusade.

Spielberg, 61, admitted it was a struggle to resign to the idea of bringing Indy back to life, but soon changed his mind once the right script was discovered.

He says, "Resistance - in the sense that I made a deal with George in 1977 on the beach in Hawaii to make three of these things if the first one was successful. And to prove to George (Lucas) that I had fulfilled my moral contract, I designed a shot where Harrison (Ford) rode off into the sunset and that's a classic western side off and I thought that was the end."

Paramount bosses have spent a reported $150 million (GBP75 million) marketing the film - set to premiere at France's Cannes Film Festival on Sunday (18May08) ahead of its worldwide 22 May (08) release date. It will be the first of Spielberg's films to debut at the festival since his 1982 Oscar-winning film E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial.

Angelina Jolie: ‘New film helped me gain closure after mom’s death’

Angelina JolieAngelina Jolie says her role in new drama The Exchange, in which she plays a woman whose child is kidnapped, was doubly poignant because the character was reminiscent of her late mom.

“Its personal, but I lost my mother a few months before the film,” she says in a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival, where the movie is premiering. “And to me, [my character Christines] very much like my mother. My mother was very passive in many ways, and very, very sweet. But when it came to her children, she was a lion. But as a woman very shy, almost of her own voice.”

Still coming to terms with the death of her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who passed away after losing her battle with ovarian cancer in January 2007, Angelina says diving into the emotional roller coaster that is the film provided her closure.

In the beginning formed in 1997, Swedish retro bikers Siena Base confusingly take their cite from Tuscany's "warm, earthy colors" -- a cryptic explanation to say the least, since the quartet's '70s

derived melding of progressive tense, psychedelic and hard rock candy would appear to have small to do with Italian Republic (only if hey, whatsoever workings for them!). Featuring lead singer/organist Oskar Lundström, guitarist/vocalist KG Mae West, bassist/vocalist Surface-to-air missile Riffer and drummer Sexual love H. Forsberg, Siena Radical bit by bit honed their craft through geezerhood of baseball society gigs and writing roger Sessions, finally culminating in a deal with Rage of Achilles Records and the press release of their 2004 debut record album A Freshly Day Cockcrow.
